For the celebration of the Holy Week, I decided to take the SPAM (Spiritual Prayer and Meditation) Challenge. I first learned about this kind of spiritual exercise in Bruce Wilkinson's The Prayer of Jabez for Teens. The SPAM Challenge is about fasting from secular things for a duration of time (in my case, it's one week). The goal of this "isolation" from worldly things is to grow closer to God. The logic here is that with less distractions, one can hear Him more clearly. Today is the third day of my SPAM WEEK and I feel that it's a disaster. I don't have this "atmosphere" of holiness, piety, etc. I have this sluggishness towards spedning time with Him. I feel that I'm not being religious enough. I really need help and thank goodness, He's gonna help; I know He will.
